Birthday decorations are just creating aesthetic room for celebration. It becomes memorable when the children have story to step into, options to discover and learn, a proud moment when they say ‘I made it’ and sense of owning the same as ‘return gifts’.
If you live in Bengaluru (Bangalore), Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Lucknow, Pune or Chennai, you’ve probably noticed a shift in how many families want to spend their weekends. Instead of taking an entire group across the city, navigating traffic and organising everything around a restaurant or a distant venue, more parents are considering birthdays at home or in their apartment community hall. Familiar surroundings, a relaxed guest list and more room for children to actually participate can be a refreshing alternative.
And the celebration itself is changing. Parents are looking beyond a good-looking backdrop. They want creative activities, meaningful engagement, child-friendly food choices and memorable take-home experiences. Beautiful photographs still matter, of course. But so does the question every parent eventually asks: What will the children actually do at the party?
Welcome to the first Quikii Birthday Playbook: a dinosaur birthday designed around participation, imagination and little moments worth remembering. This edition is about activities and games, including free A4 dinosaur activity sheets. We’ll explore dinosaur-themed food, decor styling and online return-gift ideas in separate guides.

BEFORE THE BIRTHDAY BUZZ
A few weeks prior the parents gets an invite (digital) along with the digital copy of the passes with the clear mention about the acts and activities and a request to collect the physical copy of the same at the entrance to level up the experience.
Did you know? Quikii includes a complimentary digital birthday invitation with every order—another detail you don’t have to organise separately.
When the children arrive, there’s no awkward standing around waiting for everyone else. A small Dino Park Ticket Counter welcomes each guest. They collect their Explorer Activity Pass, get their name written on it and follow a trail of prehistoric footprints into the party. A sign reads: “Welcome, Junior Explorers. Your expedition begins here.”
AT THE ENTRANCE
An activity or entrance pass gives your birthday party a simple structure without making it feel like school or a paid event. Handover one to each child at the entrance, then stamp or tick it as they participate in different stations.
You don’t need to create all the activity stations and game stalls suggested here. For a living-room celebration, choose two or three activities. For an apartment community hall, create separate stations and let children move between them in smaller groups.
DINO ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS BIRTHDAYS (MAKE AND TAKE HOME)
Choose And Paint Your Favourite Dino
Set up a supervised painting station with pre-cast POP, fully dried dinosaur miniatures, brushes, washable child-appropriate paint and a labelled drying area. Each child selects a dinosaur, makes it their own and takes it home after the paint dries.
This is ideal for a slower, hands-on activity that works particularly well alongside arrival games. Prepare the miniatures in advance or ask your birthday planner to procure it; wet plaster mixing is not part of the children’s activity.
Make Your Own Dino Land
Give each kid (explorer) a compact base and a few prepared materials: printed foliage, small rocks, cardboard landforms, a volcano cutout and a dinosaur figure. They arrange the pieces to create a tiny prehistoric world.
The best part? No two Dino Lands look alike. Children can name their creation and explain its story to the birthday host.
Choose larger, age-appropriate components for young children and avoid small loose pieces where there is a choking risk.
Paint It. Personalise It. Take It Home!
Not every craft needs to be purely decorative. Offer pre-cut, smooth-edged MDF dinosaur hangers or pen stands that children can paint and personalise with their names.
It’s a practical keepsake, and children are often especially proud of something they can use at home. Keep the pieces prepared in advance so the activity focuses on decorating, not cutting or assembly with sharp tools.
Bring Dino World To Life — One Brushstroke At A Time!
Imagine a giant 7 × 7 ft canvas featuring pre-sketched dinosaurs, volcanoes and prehistoric landscapes, waiting to be brought to life! Armed with brushes and colours, little explorers work together to paint their own Dino World, guided by an activity facilitator.
Every child contributes to one spectacular masterpiece, making it a fun, collaborative experience rather than an individual art project. Once completed, the colourful Dino World becomes a memorable group-photo backdrop and a beautiful keepsake from the celebration.
Adopt-A-Dino: Turn A Take-Home Gift Into A Moment
Arrange soft dinosaur toys in a small Dino Adoption Centre. Instead of casually handing one over, ask each child to choose a dinosaur, give it a name and sign a simple adoption card.
You can offer Stuff-a-Dino or Adopt-a-Dino, depending on space, budget and age group. They are two different ways to create a keepsake; you don’t have to run both.
DINO ENGAGEMENTS IN BETWEEN
You don’t need to fill every minute with a big setup. Short games help maintain the energy while paint dries or other groups finish their crafts.
Find The Missing Dino Egg
Find the Missing Dino Egg: Hide a few paper eggs around the venue and let explorers search for them using clues. Keep the search within clearly defined safe areas.
The Dino Knowledge Challenge
Ask simple dinosaur questions that children can solve alone or in small teams. Match the difficulty to their ages.
Name That Dinosaur
Show a dinosaur silhouette or illustration and invite children to guess its name. Let younger children work with an older buddy.
Kahani Cubes – Roll The Dice, Tell A Dino Story!
Each little explorer rolls 3–4 dinosaur-themed storytelling dice featuring dinosaurs, volcanoes, eggs and fossils. The challenge is to create a fun, imaginative story connecting all the illustrations rolled.
A playful activity that sparks creativity, storytelling, quick thinking and laughter!
NO DINO HOPPING, PLAY AT PAPER
Not every family needs to book elaborate activity stations. Sometimes paper, crayons and a beautifully planned little game are enough to give children a wonderful afternoon.
To make that easier, we created the free Quikii Dino Adventure Printable Pack, designed in A4 portrait format for birthdays at home and apartment community halls.
Free Printable: Prehistoric Explorer Journal
Let your little explorers discover the world of T. rex! From colouring and solving a dinosaur maze to exploring prehistoric facts, this fun activity sheet combines creativity, learning and adventure.
Free Printable: Dino Birthday Scavenger Hunt
Turn your little explorers into prehistoric detectives! This fun Dino Birthday Scavenger Hunt challenges kids to find dinosaur toys, footprints, colours and other party surprises while ticking off their discoveries.
Perfect for dinosaur-themed birthdays at home or in apartment community halls, this interactive activity keeps kids exploring, moving and engaged.
